The Power of Physical Intelligence – Book Review (1)

Hello all you anonymous awesome people!!!

Today I am going to share some awesome videos based on the famous book “The Power of Physical Intelligence” written by the most famous MultiMillion Copy Bestselling Author Tony Buzan.

The book features 10 Awesome Physically Intelligent People who have conquered the impossible feats of human history. Most importantly most of the Stars are alive even now. So this is not a book which is like the Usual Fitness Motivational Books available in the market but is a beautiful book full of amazing facts about our Human Anatomy and its amazing features that can be used to your own body.

The book is divided into 10 chapters.

  1. And it covers all aspects right from explaining what are the basics of human anatomy and how our brain plays a major role in building our body.
  2. It also features some amazing exercises which helps you build energy, endurance and most importantly your stamina.
  3. One of the most interesting concepts portrayed in the book is the DVD – Diet, Vitamins, Drugs. DVD explains how when served with right proportion can work wonders to human body.
  4. Tony Buzan also explains the amazing concepts behind the Human Body and how its limitations can be bent over time when you start working on your body in the right way.
  5. Have you ever thought how much your walking style determines your fitness levels?
  6. Have you given a thought how much your pulse says about the minute details in your body?
  7. Have you ever pondered there are a trillion people who are guarding your entire body on a 24*7 basis and how you can rule them according to your will with the right intelligence of how your body works.
  8. Buzan further takes us into a walk-through where the various myths related to Human Bodies and Aging are demystified. Tony proves how much mental age actually increases with age and how you can age gracefully.
  9. One of the most important things which i liked in this book are the quotes which are sprinkled evenly in the book. One such quote which i liked the most was

Age … is a matter of feeling, not of years – George William Curtis

Finally before ending the book, Tony takes us through several other intelligence’s which collectively when applied to our life enhances not just our lives but helps us become more beautiful from inside as well.

Here i am sharing you few videos which speak of one such limit which the following Physically Intelligent Star has overcome.

Christopher Reeve

Christopher D’Olier Reeve(September 25, 1952 – October 10, 2004) was an American actor, film director, producer, screenwriter, author and activist. He achieved stardom for his acting achievements, in particular his motion-picture portrayal of the DC comic book superhero, Superman.
On May 27, 1995, Reeve became a quadriplegic after being thrown from a horse during an equestrian competition in Culpeper, Virginia. He required a wheelchair and breathing apparatus for the rest of his life. He lobbied on behalf of people with spinal-cord injuries and for human embryonic stem cell research, founding the Christopher Reeve Foundation and co-founding the Reeve-Irvine Research Center. How did he motivate himself even after suffering such huge disaster which paralyzed his whole body right down the neck?

Michael Schumacher

Michael Schumacher (born 3 January 1969) is a retired German racing driver. Schumacher is a seven-time Formula One (F1) World Champion and is widely regarded as one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time. He holds many of Formula One’s driver records, including most championships, race victories, fastest laps, pole positions and most races won in a single season – 13 in 2004. In 2002, he became the only driver in Formula One history to finish in the top three in every race of a season and then also broke the record for most consecutive podium finishes. According to the official Formula One website, he is “statistically the greatest driver the sport has ever seen”. (Source:Wikipedia)

Its not pure “Luck”. Its pure example of “Mind Over Matter”

Daily Prompt #22: BFFs

Daily Prompt: BFFs.

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from the person you’re the closest to?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us FRIENDS.

Friends – a nice word to ponder upon in my life.

By the way who is a friend?

The standard Oxford Dixtionary says

In all the above references it means only 1 thing. A person who stands by you as a support through thick and thin.

Now comes broad classification of friends in real life scenario.

  1. Hi-Bye Friends
  2. Girl Friends
  3. Boy Friends
  4. Sarcastic Friends
  5. Supportive Friends
  6. Selfish Friends
  7. Boring Friends
  8. ….
  9. last but not the least… Misunderstood people whom we assume to be friends.

Well I need not explain all the categories of friends to you guys as you are very well aware of all the categories. Today I am going to share 2 types of friends who have literally changed my life both for the Good and the Bad ways.

Instead of being depressive as usual let me begin the post with a little shot of optimisim.

In my life the I have had the rare privilege of having some real friends who still stand by me no matter how ugly is the situation. I call them Friends for lifetime. Thank God… they came in my life when all else was broken in my life. When all else fails, there is this thing called as “Family”. And this Family need not constitute our own blood relatives.
Because sometimes Strangers become more than family and Family becomes more than Strangers.

So my Family constitutes my mom, few real friends (not more than 5) and myself. My entire life runs around this little world which is very supportive and inspiring for me each day each minute.

The biggest lesson that I have learnt from this little family of my own is “Be yourself. People will love you the way you are. Respect each living thing in this world with dignity. Losing hope is the last thing that you should do once you stop breathing forever. Never give a damn for someone who brings only pain in your life. Have a clear cut strategy of
how things are gonna be in your life”

Frankly speaking… it took me 20+ years to learn the above 6 Lines and another 2 years to put them into practice.
Thanks to the Type 2 Friends who quickened my process of learning.
They made the process of learning these life lessons so cool that I cannot stop giving credit to their little, big, ugly deeds that they have done to me.

Here you go…

Type 2: FRIEND?

All those years when my Family kept on repeating me that i should grow up to differentiate between good people and bad people… i gave the slightest attention to what they actually meant. But once i started encountering more and more people in my life the fog got lifted slowly until there came a day when i got the skill of keeping some people always at bay in my life.

I value them the most but i dare not to bring them in the inner circle of my life. I value these people a lot as they are “Lesson Givers” in my life. They made me more calmer and more tolerant to irritable situations. They showed me where i belong to and what are the different prospects where i can grow in my life. They tried to show me how to axe others feelings with a single statement and then
shamelessly wag their tail once again to befriend someone.

ok enough of credit giving… coming to real point.

I have met this specific group of “friends” who never stand by you… never try to understand you… never know you also completely… yet become utterly JUDGMENTAL on all the tiny stuffs about you. They infuse pessimism you and try to demoralize you each day. The moment you lift their veil they become all arrogant and defend themselves by saying “we are being very honest about this…”

They can become purely irritating at some points in your life where they cease to understand the real definition of friendship and start proving that they are the greatest human beings who understand what is it to be a friend in your life.

I have a very nice gift wrapped with lots of love for those people. That is “F**** You Dear Friend !!! Thanks for the good lesson. You are simply not worth of being my friend.”

It took me lots of years to shun these type of people in my life. Thanks to Robin Sharma’s Books. This one line from Robin Sharma’s book really made it so easy for me.

You may have some 1000+ people in your circle. But if we pause for a while and just think…”Whether all of them really matter to me or not?” we will definitely get the best answer. Choosing limited number of people who influence your life well is really very important in one’s life. Else you may end up being a victim like me who is still taking lessons from Type 2 …

Have a happy and Blessed day ahead people!!!

Thanks for giving this post a read…

Love you all,

Daily Prompt #21: Quirk of Habit

Daily Prompt: Quirk of Habit.

Which quirky habit annoys you the most, and what quirky habit do you love — in yourself, or others.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us QUIRKY.

Habits…. They define you. They shape you and over a few years they cast their spell on you. So we must be wise while choosing our habits. Habits can be good or bad.

Good Habits are very difficult to cultivate.

From the above picture it is clear that for any habit to become a part and parcel of our lives we must first take the first step to make it a routine. We must embed the habit into our subconscious in such a way that one day the habit becomes our second name. I have felt the need to change some of my age old bad habits many a times. Each time I feel like changing my bad habits i feel… why now?

But after reading few books from Great People like Robin Sharma, Stephen Covey and others i came to a decision. Its now or never…

Then i came across a video @Youtube which said “Tiny Changes contribute to some of the biggest successful ventures”

Here you go with the video

Coming back to the WordPress Daily Prompt…

Which quirky habit annoys you the most?

When senior people who claim themselves to be more learned act very childish.

what quirky habit do you love in Others / Myself?

When people do not care about what others think and start living their life to the fullest i love their nature.

Because sometimes you got to be little quirky to be unique in life. What is the point in being a person who never tries to live life and just lives a stagnant life???

Breathe some fresh air, start one new good quirky habit as mentioned in the video and transform your life into a more healthier and more fresh one.

Life life to the fullest !!!

Daily Prompt #20: Truth or Dare

Daily Prompt: Truth or Dare.

Is it possible to be too honest, or is honesty always the best policy?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us TRUTH.’

The answer for the above question was always a NO in my life until i picked up the book “Steve Jobs- Autobiography by Walter Isaacson”

I usually used to think hiding all the nasty, dirty truth inside the deep dungeon in your heart is the best thing that anyone can do to avoid people looking at you as an a$$****.

But i was wrong. Steve’s story taught me many things about life. Many people may hate Steve because he was never nice to people nor a philanthropist like Bill Gates. He was a very aggressive personality. But underneath all those dark and negative shades of Steve what I saw was that he was honest enough not to manipulate his autobiography. He allowed people to admire him, to express their anguish on him, to say those nastiest comments on all his mistakes. He had those guts to accept the good, bad and ugly about him.

The one thing that the year 2013 has taught me is to be honest to the maximum number of possibilities that life offers to me. And I am very proud of myself that I have had all the guts to present the good, bad and the ugly side of myself to some of my close friends. Initially they were taken aback to hear such stuffs from my end but later i was surprised as those friends embraced me with more love and more care. They accepted all my mistakes and in return gave me a new life. I am thankful to all my friends who have helped me become more honest in my life and helped me overcome some of my more dark shades in my life. Honestly, they have helped me to become a more better person than I was yesterday.

And yes, these many years i have been just reading “Honesty is the best policy” but 2013 has shown me “What is being Honest in real time scenario and why it is always the best policy”

Important one liner that i always ask myself whenever i incline more towards not being honest is …

Am I being honest to myself?

What is being “Honest” to you?

Please share your opinions with me. I would love to learn something new from you 🙂

Daily Prompt #19:Progress !!!!

Daily Prompt: Progress.

When you look back at your blog on January 2, 2015, what would you like to see?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us PROGRESS.

I would like to see my blog filled with more and more blog posts which will inspire many to write.

Uusually everyone starts a blog with great excitement but after some months the fire in us gets vanished and then one day we orphan the poor blog and it just stays there forever waiting for you to write again. So this year I would like to thank the guys for promoting so many intiatives like the Daily Prompts, The Weekly Photo Challenge, The 365 Writing Prompts PDF which they have introduced this year, the Photography 101 tips, and most importantly the Fresshly Pressed Posts.

Inspite of so many things I usually fail to update this little blog of mine on a day to day basis. Why? Great People like Einstein and the Beggar on the streets of Bengaluru all have only 24 hours a day. But then why Einstein became so famous and I am still lolling about carrying this “No Time” board and not updating my blog?????

One line answer would be “LAZINESS” Hence i have decided to update my blog regularly from now so that on Jan 2, 2015 my blog shall have atleast 100 new posts.

Swami Vivekananda’s Poster in my room still has those inspiring words on them …
