"Simplify your life and life goals. People try to do too much. Simplify does not mean you can't have ambitious goals. Make small changes. Small changes lead to big changes. Small changes are doable." ~ Dandapani Learn.dandapani.org #entrepreneur #entrepreneurship #entrepreneurlife #entrepreneurmindset #life #subconscious #priorities #habits #attention #concentrate #life #meditation #personalgrowth #personaldevelopment #consistency #willpower #discipline #mind #thoughts #focus #concentration #strive #awareness #change #energy #simplicity #meditate #purpose #philosophy #lifestyle
As the above Instagram post says, your aim should be to simplify your life goals. Never try to fix everything. You will fail. Instead, make a note of 20 odd things that you want to change first and then highlight the top 5 that you wish to change immediately.
In my case, all it took was some 25 minutes of listing down all the things that hindered my routine. I wanted to find out what made me touch my phone at the first place. I found out that the number of push notifications that my phone received was the trigger point. It was time to go to my phone settings and immediately disable them. This simple act of avoiding the urge to check notifications helped me overcome my smartphone addiction.
My next goal was to wake up at 4am.
For this, once again, I had to make a note of all the things that came in between me and my morning time. And to my surprise, I found that my age-old habit of staying late was the cuplrit. It was then I saw this video by Casey Niestat. It helped me to take ownership of my mornings more seriously than ever.
I stopped going to any kind of party or meetup which was scheduled after 5pm. I would religiously hit bed before 11pm. I avoided all the party invitations and weekend getaways which would come in between me and my routine. Within 3 weeks, my routine was slowly taking shape. There were times when I would miss my routine but this never deterred me from going back and fixing my routine again. My focus was purely on achieving my 4am goal. Avoiding contact with all the distractions helped me wake up on time every day.
Sometimes all it takes is to have no contact from things that distract you.
It could be fast food or Netflix or even some people. You need to first be honest with your own self and write down your distractions. No matter how hard you feel like going back to your comfort zone, try to stay away from it. If you don’t stop returning to your old patterns, you will never grow.
Wake up today! and own your life!
Whenever you find something that distracts you from your goal, be ruthless and avoid contact with it. Your mind is your best friend and also your worst enemy. If you do not take control of your mind, there will be a time when anything and everyone around you will start playing with it. Make this 2019, purely yours.
Go ahead and claim your life. Do not settle for anything less.
