Prompt:
You are given unlimited funds to plan one day full of any and all luxuries you normally can’t afford. Tell us about your extravagant day with as much detail as possible.
While I was casually browsing magazines in the vast library of my company, a captivating magazine cover caught my eye.
It had the world’s most renowned personalities on it. I immediately started flipping through the pages. Beyond the opulence and the grandeur of the photo shoot, there was more that met the eye. All these personalities had one thing in common. They had a shared vision in the “Joy of Giving”.
What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal.
– Albert Pine
Not all generous people are not born with generosity. We have to understand that first. Generosity is something that each of us can cultivate and imbibe in our lives. You need not be a Warren Buffet to pledge all your wealth. You could just help someone in your neighbourhood silently without making a big fuss out of it by oversharing it on all your socials.
Very often, we hear people complaining that there is no hope in this world anymore. I somehow beg to differ this ideology. I believe there is abundance on this Earth. However, there is a big deficit in the hearts of people. Deficit of philanthropic initiatives.
So well, to answer today’s prompt. Had I been given access to unlimited funds, here’s what I would do:
1. Establish a trust for stray animals, physically challenged individuals and senior citizens.
2. Develop comprehensive facilities to ensure they live the rest of their lives with dignity.
This plan won’t involve any kind of extravagance. It just centres around hard work and ensures that there is hope for the hopeless, food for the hungry, and opportunities for the disabled. After all, everyone deserves happiness in this world.
